BHS Back-to-School Prep Day - Thursday, August 6th

Posted Date: 08/04/26 (02:15 PM)

Greyhounds,
We look forward to seeing you this Thursday, August 6, for Back-to-School Prep Day!

  • Session 1: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Session 2: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Students from any grade level may attend either session. Please enter through the front gates at the front of the school.

Students will be able to pick up their class schedulestudent ID, and parking sticker. Seniors may also pick up their off-campus lunch sticker for the first nine weeks if their parent/guardian has completed the required form in Skyward Family Access and they do not owe hours from last school year.

A Note About Student Schedules:
Our master schedule was carefully developed using the course requests students finalized during the spring semester. Those selections determined the number of class sections offered, staffing assignments, and the overall campus schedule. Because our schedule is built around those finalized requests, our ability to make changes is very limited. Schedule change requests will be considered only in the following circumstances:
  • Correcting a scheduling error
  • Adding a missing graduation requirement
  • Resolving an incomplete schedule
Requests based on teacher preference, lunch period, or a change of mind regarding elective selections generally cannot be accommodated. We appreciate your understanding as we work to provide every student with the courses they selected while maintaining balanced class sizes and ensuring all graduation requirements are met.

PTO:
Our PTO will be at the front gate selling BHS T-shirts, sweatshirts, and caps. They accept cash, checks, and credit cards.

Transportation/Nutrition Services/Nurse
Representatives from Transportation will be available to answer bus route questions, and Nutrition Services will be available to assist with school lunch accounts and free and reduced-price meal applications. Nurse Veh will be in the clinic if you would like to drop off medications for your student before the school year begins.

Yearbook:
We hope to have the link available by Thursday to purchase the 2026–2027 yearbook online. If it is ready, a QR code will be available at Prep Day. If not, the QR code will be posted on the BHS social media platforms as soon as ordering opens. If you still need a 2025–2026 yearbook, copies are available for $90 in the front office through Mrs. Bergman, while supplies last. Cash or check only.

Northwest Vista College:
Finally, Northwest Vista College advisors will be on campus outside the counseling office with consent forms for students registering for dual credit courses.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back and see you at Prep Day.

Go Greyhounds!
